How the Safe Travels Stamp will Regain the Confidence of Travelers
The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) is a non-profit organization. They represent the private sector of travel and tourism. Its members include hotel chains, cruise lines, online travel booking sites, travel management companies, airports, aviation, media and PR firms as well as destination tourism agencies.
The World Travel & Tourism Council is working to regain the trust and confidence of travelers around the globe. They have taken on the enormous task to develop the Safe Travels stamp. This is the first ever global safety and hygiene stamp for the tourism and travel industry. It is a living document and will be adjusted as protocols are altered.
The stamp was developed in collaboration with the WTTC and its members.
The stamp is easily recognized, by its blue and green logo, it will be displayed on company websites, emails, social media accounts or anywhere they desire. It will assure travelers that the destination, airline, hotel, tour operator, cruise line or insurance agency have all met the Covid-19 protocols set out by WTTC. The Safe Travel protocols are in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
There are four pillars that each travel sector must adhere to in order to obtain the Safe Travels Stamp.
Operational and staff preparedness
Ensuring a safe experience
Rebuilding Trust & Confidence
Implementing enabling policies.
The stamp is not a certification but a self-assessment. The companies that are displaying the stamp, have determined that they have met the Safe Travel protocols. They will also continue to implement protocols as they evolve.
Travel companies around the world are working to bring travel back to communities that depend on tourist dollars to survive. If you see this stamp then you know the protocols have been met and are being safely administered.
