The Best Events and Entertainment New York City Has to Offer This Winter

Winter in New York City is still a thrill and there is always something happening. New York City Winter Outing is in full swing from January 18 to February 13, 2022. Presented by nycgo.com, New York City’s official visitors bureau. Anything you want to know about upcoming events and entertainment can be found on their website. It is easy to maneuver and gives you a clear comprehensive layout of NY neighborhoods and the 5 surrounding boroughs. This is great because the last thing you want to do is travel from downtown to midtown in one evening. The best way to experience NY is by neighborhood. Each offers a unique culture all its own.

This is NYC’s third year featuring NYC Restaurant Week, NYC Broadway Week, NYC Hotel Week, and NYC Must-See Week. Bundle up a package and come for an evening or stay the weekend. Take advantage of hotel discounts, featured menus, 2 for 1 Broadway, and attraction tickets.

NYC Restaurant Week: (January through Feb 13)

Many cities around the country offer a Restaurant Week. They are usually held in the off-season. Late spring, April, and May or mid-winter January and February. This is considered very sustainable for tourism. Part of becoming a conscious traveler is visiting a destination in the off-season. Spreading out visitors throughout the whole year instead of a concentrated overload of tourists during the busy or high season. Which could result in overcrowding, a drain on the infrastructure and the local community. We saw this happening prior to Covid when Global tourism was experiencing historical numbers. In 2019 NYC was expected to hit an all-time high of 65 million visitors. Of course, all of that has changed now and New York City can use all the visitors they can get. Restaurant week is a great opportunity to help out struggling small businesses.

Restaurant Week is also a great way to try out a new cuisine or enjoy a high-end dining experience for a moderate price. If I lived closer to Manhattan I would be trying a different dining experience weekly.

Restaurant Week runs through February 13, 2022. Over 500 restaurants participated from all 5 boroughs.  Visit nycgo.com for a list of venues. Most offer a set-priced menu ranging from 39.00 to 59.00 per person. They will usually consist of 3 to 4 choices of an Appetizer, Entree, and Desert. Check the nycgo.com website for details, menus, and links for reservations. Reserve in advance as seating is limited. Valentine's Day is just around the corner, don’t leave it for the last minute or you’ll miss out.
